Some call the economy we have now a recession, a deep
recession or a depression. To me it’s a depression and I
would further suggest it’s a depression characterized by
extreme economic dislocation. We have not seen foreclosures,
business bankruptcies, and layoffs like we see today since the
1930′s.
Economic Dislocation is for debt collectors is like dangling
salmon or tuna in front your favorite cat. People who have always
paid their bills now find themselves in danger of losing their homes,
of defaulting on credit card debt simply because they have
become unemployed or thought all that money during the late
90′s and into the midpoint of this decade was free. People were
using their homes as ATM machines. No longer is that option
available since real estate has taken incredible hits across the
U.S. So have the values of retirement plan portfolios dropped
to the tune of trillions of dollars. I never even used the
“trillions” before this year in my entire life.
People a year ago would say to me, “Robert, what sort of
client approaches you for help to stop the harassment from
debt collectors?” I would reply that they are on average
financially unsophisticated, blue or gray collar employees
who do not understand that they have rights and don’t have
to be victims. These people are unfortunate targets for
dishonest debt collectors; like shooting fish in a bowl.
The paradigm shift is that now my client could be a senior
level executive, a thoracic surgeon, a college professor,
an engineer, a former Bear Sterns, Lehman Brothers
investment banker, merger acquisitions specialist, derivatives
engineer etc. or anyone else who has recent joined the ranks
of the unemployed. We have a national epidemic which now
confronts us unlike anything most of us has ever seen.
As many of you know I had my own financial tsunami some
years ago and that is how stopthecallsfast was created. I was
confronted with bankruptcy, divorce and foreclosure all at the
same time. Believe me, at the time it was terrifying. As is with
people today, I had the feeling I was done; that life was over
as I knew it. WRONG!!
So why am I writing this and how does it help anyone who is
reading it? If you are threatened by debt collectors with a lawsuit
or they screw around with your credit reports, it does not matter
whether you are a PhD at Harvard or an assembly line worker
at Ford. Same stuff because when they come after you they
don’t care about pedigree or initials after your name or where
you work or worked. You are just meat for their grinders. You
need to know your rights. This area of consumer law is very
specialized and even most attorneys don’t know much about
the interrelationship of the Federal Trade Commission, the Fair
Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
The debt collection industry is probably one of the most
unregulated industries in the U.S. The financial penalties for
debt collector misconduct are laughable or to be more emphatic
hysterically funny. If you were making millions in fees, would
you be concerned about fines that at most are $1000 per violation?
So, you say, “Well Robert what the heck is so wonderful about
you? I can get letters and advice for free on the internet”
Yes there is a plethora of free advice and free letters on the
internet. You may want to ask yourself what are these letters
and advice worth to a neophyte? Well exactly the price you are
paying……….0.’
The difference between what I am telling you is that I lived through
all of these financial problems and successfully resurrected my life
and my financial life using the letters and data that I offer on
my website. So I guess you can say my stuff is battlefield or combat
